Sleeping better

Ever since the main linkaGoGo server stopped working on January 26th, and we had to fall back to our backup server, I didn’t feel very comfortable about the service level that linkaGoGo provided. The backup server was not only slower, it was also not located in the DataCenter we use and had network stability issues.

Last Thursday (3/9) we finally got our main server back in action. It only needed a new Power Supply. Why it took us that long you are asking? Well first to figure that it was the Power Supply (we bought two new motherboards and new CPUs) and then to get the appropriate Power Supply with the correct capacity and correct connectors, we were 6 weeks further.

I’m glad to report that the main server has been up for a week now without hiccups and I sleep much better. I will sleep even better once the new machine I bought will also be operational. Then we will have two machines working in parallel which will give us better performance and in case one machine goes down a reliable fallback machine.

Today I finally had a change to work on the web site itself and fixed some issues people reported. Most notable are the image chooser can be launched again from the Edit screen and the SiteSee, Email and Verify tools can operate on more then 50 bookmarks in a folder.
